What are wonderkids?

Wonderkids are classified as players of high potential ability of at least 150 and are no older than 20 at the start of the game. Football Manager has two methods of determining a players quality called current ability (CA) and potential ability (PA). Both numbers have a range between 0 and 200. The CA is the ability of a player when you look at his profile. PA is the potential ability that a player could reach depending on a variety of factors.

So, who could be a wonderkid on FM21? See our list below of who we think could be a wonderkid on FM21. If you think we have missed someone, please contact us on social media, or comment on this article.

A supremely gifted sportsman from an early age, Gio joined the NYCFC youth academy and his talent soon shone through. Like former teammate Christian Pulisic, he was able to join the Black-and-Yellows at the age of just 16, having secured a Portuguese passport through Claudio's mother Maria. After playing for the club's U19s team in 2019/20, he was promoted to the senior side during the winter break.

Victor Tsygankov was the go-to wonderkid Ukrainian winger in FM20, so how about a left-winger to compliment him with some symmetry in FM21? Becir Omeragic - FC Zurich

Young promising centre backs sure seem much harder to come by than their more attacking counterparts, but rest assured, Becir Omeragic is as promising as it gets. The Raiffeisen Super League is a quality place for young players to develop, so it is up to you whether you want to move on him straight away or monitor him for a season. Great tackling ability combined with a great jumping reach and being 6'2" show a centre back that wants for nothing.
