We've taken a look at the Bundesliga to bring you our top 5 saves to play when Football Manager 2023 drops later this year.

FC Ingolstadt

FC Ingolstadt is a new age football club founded in 2004 and hit a meteoric rise straight from the word go, reaching the Bundesliga within 10 years. Their first season in the Bundesliga saw them finish seventh but they have since declined and been relegated several times. They do currently hold a Bundesliga 2 title and a German Division Bulgaria title but that's about it, that means this club is a fresh slate in terms of trophies. This is going to be a more tough save to do as you aren't going to have a whole lot of money down in the third division. Try to utilise free transfers as this will help you utilise money in the best way possible and save it for facility improvements.

Fortuna Düsseldorf

Fortuna Düsseldorf is an old success type club. They won the Bundesliga in 1933 and the DFB-Pokal in 1979 and 1980. You'll need to bring a new age of success to the club and they come massive 54.6 thousand seater stadium in Bundesliga 2. The squad already is pretty solid all round with quite a few younger players. When you do eventually get promoted you won't want to blow all your money on players and will definitely want to invest in your facilities to improve them to ensure you stay up in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Mönchengladbach

Borussia Mönchengladbach didn't have the greatest performance they were hoping for last year. They're very good at producing great young talent and you should have a pretty good transfer budget to fill in any gaps in the squad. Borussia do have some players you'll be able to sell on to help with the financial side of things. They have good and great facilities however where they lack is in junior coaching and youth recruitment so you'll definitely want to improve these when you get a chance too.

FC Kaiserslautern

FC Kaiserslautern are a historic club who have won 4 Bundesliga titles with the most recent in 1998, 2 DFB-Pokals and a German Super Cup win in 1991 as well. Instead of seeing a meteoric rise, they saw a meteoric fall. The season of 2010-11 was the last season they were comfortable within the Bundesliga as they were relegated in the next season to Bundesliga 2 and in the 2017-18 season they were relegated yet again to the Bundesliga 3. They do seem to be on the rise slowly as they've made it back into the Bundesliga 2 recently. It's a club that will need improvement in the early days big time, as it will most likely be a struggle to even finish mid table with the current squad.

FC Union Berlin

Peter Gribat & 1. FC Union Berlin e.V. - 1. FC Union Berlin e.V.

FC Union Berlin seem to know what they're doing at the moment unlike Hertha BSC, the other club situated in Berlin. Union Berlin aren't a team with a lot of money so have to kind of make do with what they have and are doing a very good job with it. They were in the Europa Conference last season and will be in it again this season. Union Berlin deserves a go within FM23 as they're managing to do the impossible with very little. Their facilities aren't the best and that's where their neighbours Hertha BSC have them beaten, so you'll want to try to improve that area over time as they don't have a lot of funds available immediately. Be patient and don't make any dumb purchases.
